about

I wrote and recorded this song the week of 1/29 - 2/4/2018. Feeling sorrowful, I turned to music as my release. This was the result, the first song I've written in years.

lyrics

Peering through illusions of my feigned reality,
Distinctly recognizing now what once I could not see,
The seed it had been planted,
Though there never grew a tree,
Without you deeply rooted seems that we could never be,
Without you deeply rooted seems that we could never be..

I seem to be at odds now with accepting my defeat,
But in light of things ending my only next move is retreat,
The time here passes slowly,
Hours feels like days, then weeks,
It's hard to say devoutly that I can rise back to my feet,
It's hard to say devoutly that I can rise back to my feet..

Tell me where can one go when one's lost in their own mind,
Losing every fight perpetuating the design,
The shape of things to come resides here,
Strictly on the line,
The thinnest line I walk now in between what I refine,
That thinnest line I walk now in between what I refine..

Peering through illusions of my feigned reality,
Peering through illusions of my feigned reality,
Peering through illusions of my feigned reality...

about

Jason Franklin Denver, Colorado

I first started writing/playing music in 2001. I've always continued to write music from my heart and pour it into any project I'm in. I want you to take something with you when you hear my music. That could be a lyric, maybe an emotion it made you feel. As long as you feel something, anything, then I've done my job. ... more
